Democracy- A Govt. of the people, by the people and for the people... Forget it now please!!!

SCAMS.. perhaps the only word that hasn't changed in the headlines and front pages of newspapers for about a year now. Before we could even take our eyes off one scam, the next one comes rolling in with even greater money involved or with even better storyline. The UPA II regime seems to be mired in scams.. 2G, Commonwealth Games, CVC, ISRO scandals and before our dearest PM Mr. Manmohan Singh could even take his head out of the pond of scandals to breathe a bit, the cash for votes scandal came crashing on his head making him cut a sorrier figure than ever.

What was even more shocking was that he never dealt with the allegations head on.. thereby giving away the impression of the UPA Govt. being guilty. His defence was all the more shoddy. His remarks raised quite a few eyebrows when he stated that the cash-for-votes episode occurred during the regime of UPA I and that the coalition government has won the people's mandate and reborn as UPA II was enough to absolve its previous avatar of any charges that might be levelled against it.
Yes, Mr. PM you are absolutely right. Politics in India is all about winning the election. Isn't it my friends?? Hats off to your honesty. Democracy (forget the dictionary meaning) in India has just been reduced to the right to vote. And Manmohan Singh said exactly the same thing in a bit tweaked manner. Times change and so do the literal meaning of words. And now democracy has its slang meaning too.
We all know India is on the path of redefining the world's economy and our PM has rightly taken a few bold steps of redefining few crucial words. So now we stumble on the new meaning which goes as follows-
Democracy - A Govt. of the people, by the people with a sole motive of getting reelected.
In 1991 Manmohan Singh redefined India's economy which opened the gates to private players. 20 years hence he has redefined India's democracy, which has opened the gates to any party who has people's mandate to play its own scam game.
As for now good move Mr. PM. Keep up the scams, scandals and sins backstage while Rahul Gandhi continues his road shows. Keep up amassing wealth and we 'the foolish aam aadmi' will keep reelecting you. The best part is that in every new term you will be purged of the scams, scandals and sins of the previous ones. And if someday if you get bogged down by a great amount of sins committed, you can of course turn to take a dip in the Holy Ganges(which by the way has become very polluted purging our sins). The manner in which your list of bad deeds will get refreshed every 5 years and the list of good ones will keep adding on I am pretty sure you will get a ticket to swarg lok when you depart leaving behind your magnificent marks in our politics.
Brush up your knowledge guys.. I have brushed mine and get rid of old books. New ones are in the press.
As the Parliament's soap opera continues we are expecting many more changes. What's next Mr. PM

The World Cup and the BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!

Yes, The World Cup is round the corner. Yeah, you can feel it everywhere.. from news channels to newspapers and even the ads.. But believe me, I have just got too bored. From cricket stalwarts to legends to media person and infact everyone around seems to be chanting a single 'common' mantra... 'INDIA ARE THE FAVORITES'..

Whom are you kidding by the way???

Well there is an old famous saying "Till there is hope, there is life"
But guys I don't understand.. how can someone blindly hope??? Don't take me wrong. I am not against India or that I am a pessimist. I am Indian by heart and blood. But the facts at the present moment doesn't seem so optimistic.

Look at the current situation in this manner-
1). India's top three batsmen - Sehwag, Gambhir and Tendulkar are all down with injuries. While the tournament is approaching closer every day, their fitness is still in doubt. No one of these three batsmen have picked up the bat yet . And even if they return in full fitness, will they be in form after an injury lay-off.
2). India's middle order, as last seen in South Africa, seems very fragile. Yuvraj Singh is not in touch. Suresh Raina has been in and out of form in very small intervals. Dhoni seems to have been bogged down by pressure (the changes can be seen in his game). Yusuf Pathan is an unreliable player. Even if he clicks it can't be made sure that he is going to last long enough to take India to victory. Only Kohli's form can be trusted as of now.
3). India's pace attack is all about Zaheer Khan. Ashish Nehra and Munaf Patel can have an off day in any match. So Zaheer's fitness would be very crucial from India's point of view. Praveen Kumar being out with injury doesn't leave us with much options.
4). And yes, now comes the spin attack. The selectors have included an extra leg spinner in the side who hasn't played international cricket since 2008. Harbhajan Singh and R. Ashwin have proved their worth time and again. Then there is Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Virender Sehwag.. So our team has 6 off spinners. Well, how much they can spin India to victory will be seen.

Now with all those odds stacked against India how can people still keep chanting the hymn. I am still dazed and at 3 in the morning (sacrificing my sleep) I am here writing so that you can see all this brouhaha with a pragmatic Angle.
As for now 'that's what the mirror shows' hope the reflection changes from 19th Feb.

Dhobi Ghat Blues

This one is from AnkitSky.. well here i am.. 4:40 am.. stayed up late.. watched a movie called Dhobi ghat. It was an art based movie.. Its difficult to express about movie made with such an artistic perception. There was nothing much special about it except for the artistic vision of the director. The Art referred to here is partly referred to ascribing human feelings to colours and shades and partly referring to the one focusing on the deepest emotions inside that are left unnoticed and unrecognised. I personally lived every moment of it as i share a similar perception or a distictive interest in the enigmatic and emphatic expression envisaged in general emotions and activities involved in this most fascinating place.. we live in. The meaning enclosed lets us know so much more about how descriptive and innocent nature is. How  emphasised and strong is every emotion. And what a feeling is it to realise and know so much more than what seems like nothing fascinating in general, to feel this sea called world and drown into its depths.. All this makes me remind and realise and recognise how beautiful, special and astonishing this place is defined by the people all around. With all the hustle bustle of our lives.. its filling to observe(not watch) such perceptions and realise the curiosity within for getting deeper and deeper. Had an overwhelming experience with the incoming waves of joy and receding waves of sorrow the characters had. What is it like for a mere simple guy to get so much affection and a pinch of love replenishing the heart with feelings.. the one that had been drained off any real emotion undermined by expectations and needs.. Then again drenching it off leaving the innocent heart lamenting the feeling that it considered to be everything.. Life is fascinating.
